Red lettuce can be discerned from the Green lettuce not just in color but in flavour as well. Red Lettuce is also considered fat free food comprising mainly of water. You can indulge on a bowl full of red lettuce and feel full while getting a heave of nutrition such as vitamins A & K. Red leaf lettuce is easily recognized by its spoon like bunch of leaves with shades of red to dark reddish-purple. It has about the same nutritional value as green leaf lettuce but has double the vitamin A. Red lettuce has a shorter shelf life as compared to other members of lettuce family and should be consumed within a week after harvest.
